perched on a unicycle,
precarious in balance,
pedaling with strain
up a verdant mountain trail

can’t seem to stop teetering
from side to side
where death and danger wait
in rocks and clifs below

one who once was friend
now pushes pedalling past
arms linked with another
nudging closer to toppling

others suffer the same
struggling lonely wheeled up
thinking of only balance
never of grass or sky

if we could just stop
or link arms with others
we could all see
dawn of Spring around us

Not really my best poetry, but I’m not even sure I was trying at poetry in writing this. Mostly, this is how the daydream came to me, and how I’m feeling of late. It could probably be better shaped with a bit of effort. But as it is, let me know what you think.
